AvePoint Global Object Migration - Fly (SaaS) is a powerful, cloud-native solution specifically designed for the seamless migration of data between Microsoft 365 tenants and various cloud environments. At the heart of this solution is an efficient object-based model, allowing organisations to perform complex migrations of mailboxes, SharePoint sites, and Microsoft Teams without having to worry about data limits. The platform accelerates the transition by utilising built-in discovery tools and detailed reporting, resulting in a predictable and secure migration process.
Since February 2026, the licensing structure has been fully harmonised, with the number of objects being the sole factor in cost calculation. An object is defined as a single specific workload, such as an individual mailbox, a OneDrive account, or a complete Microsoft Team, including all associated channels and files. The major advantage of this model is the "Unlimited Data" approach: whether a SharePoint site contains a few gigabytes or several terabytes of data, consumption remains limited to a single licence unit.
AvePoint has also transitioned to an Annual Upfront billing model. This means that licences are paid for annually in advance, providing organisations with greater budgetary certainty during long-term migration projects. For new customers, the old monthly "pay-as-you-go" options are no longer available.
Through the combination of technical automation and a transparent cost structure, Fly (SaaS) eliminates the administrative complexity often associated with large-scale data migrations. Administrators can use the discovery tool to map out exactly how many objects need to be migrated, after which licences can be flexibly assigned to the various workloads.
