Windows Server 2022 Datacenter is the latest version of Windows Server Datacenter packed with numerous new and enhanced features in the areas of security, Azure hybrid integration and management, and application platform. This version is specifically designed for heavily virtualized server and cloud environments, encompassing all the functionality of Windows Server 2022.

With Windows Server 2022 Datacenter you can benefit from advanced security measures to safeguard your systems and data against threats. Additionally it provides extensive capabilities for integration and management in Azure hybrid environments, enabling seamless bridging between your on-premises infrastructure and the cloud.

In terms of the application platform Windows Server 2022 Datacenter offers powerful tools and functionalities for developing and deploying modern applications. You can leverage improved performance, scalability, and reliability, along with support for cutting-edge technologies such as containers and microservices.

Please note that Windows Server 2022 Datacenter requires core licenses for all physical cores in the physical server, with a minimum of 8 core licenses per physical processor and at least 16 core licenses per physical server. Even if your physical server only has 1 or 2 quad-core processors, you still need to acquire a minimum of 16 core licenses for that server.

In addition to core licenses, Windows Server 2022 CALs are also required for users/devices, and optionally Windows Server 2022 RDS CALs for utilizing Remote Desktop Services functionality. Refer to the licensing model for more information on requirements and options.

To keep your software up to date it's advisable to purchase licenses with Software Assurance. Software Assurance offers additional benefits such as Nano Server deployments and Azure Hybrid Benefit. A new addition is the inclusion of intermediate feature updates with Software Assurance.

If you still wish to use a previous version like Windows Server 2019, licenses for Windows Server 2022 allow you to use previous versions instead of or alongside the latest version. Consult the downgrade rights table for a complete overview of the possibilities.

SWITCHING CLOUD PROVIDER

Switching to us as your new Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) is a seamless process. The transfer of subscriptions may vary depending on the agreement you have with your current provider. That's why we ensure that the transition to us is smooth, without any downtime! All you need to do is terminate your current agreement.

Subscription Transfer 
Our approach to subscription transfer is simple and seamless. On the day before your current agreement expires, we will activate the desired subscriptions in our Marketplace. This way, you won't experience any issues during the transition, and there will be no interruption in your cloud services. All you have to do is cancel your current contract to prevent automatic renewal.

No Downtime 
When you switch from your current CSP provider to us, you don't have to worry about downtime. As long as we activate the same subscriptions and quantities in our Marketplace on the day before your agreement expires, the transition will be smooth and without any interruptions. Microsoft automatically adopts our offer of new subscriptions, eliminating the need for you to reassign the subscriptions!

NCE
New Commerce Experience (NCE) is the new contract model introduced by Microsoft. Additionally, there are still "old" Legacy subscriptions in circulation, which can be identified by the absence of the (NCE) abbreviation in the product. With these old Legacy subscriptions, you can switch at any time, unless otherwise agreed with your current provider.
