PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Microsoft Windows Server 2025 is the latest version of Windows Server and introduces numerous improvements and new features, such as:

  • Advanced Security: Enhanced Active Directory capabilities, SMB over QUIC for secure file sharing, and Delegate Managed Service Accounts (dMSA) for better service account management.
  • Hybrid Cloud Integration: New features like hotpatching via Azure Arc reduce reboots and minimise operational disruption.
  • Performance Improvements: Better NVMe storage performance, GPU integration, and enhanced AI and machine learning capabilities.
  • Virtualisation Enhancements: Improved Hyper-V features and better support for virtualised environments.
  • User Experience: The desktop experience is now aligned with Windows 11, and new tools like DTrace for real-time performance monitoring have been added.

Microsoft Windows Server 2025 is available in both Standard and Datacenter editions. The Standard edition is designed for light or non-virtualised server environments, providing all the basic functionality of Windows Server 2025. Microsoft Windows Server 2025 Standard can be licensed in two ways:

Per Physical Server: All physical cores on the physical server must be licensed. There are always at least 8 core licenses required per physical processor and a minimum of 16 core licenses per physical server. This means that even if the physical server has only 1 or 2 quad-core processors, at least 16 core licenses must be purchased for that physical server. For example, if the physical server has 2 x 12-core processors, then 24 core licenses must be purchased.

Once the required number of core licenses is purchased, Windows Server Standard can be used in 2 VMs on that physical server. If this number is purchased twice, Windows Server Standard can be used in 4 VMs on that physical server, three times for 6 VMs, and so on. For 10-12 VMs per server, it is recommended to purchase Windows Server Datacenter core licenses, which allow an unlimited number of Windows Server VMs on that physical server.

Per Virtual Server: Only the virtual cores of the virtual server are licensed. There are always at least 8 core licenses required per virtual server. This means that even if the virtual server has only 2 virtual cores, at least 8 core licenses must be purchased. If the virtual server has 12 virtual cores, then 12 core licenses must be purchased.

Note: Licensing per virtual server is only allowed when all Windows Server licenses (both for the server and the CALs) have valid Software Assurance or are purchased as Server Subscription.

In addition to the core licenses for Windows Server 2025, Microsoft Windows Server 2025 CALs (Client Access Licenses) are required for all users and devices that use functionalities such as Active Directory (AD) and File/Print services. Optionally, Windows Server 2025 RDS CALs and Windows Server 2025 RMS CALs can be purchased for access to Remote Desktop Services (RDS) and Rights Management Services (RMS).

With Windows Server 2025 Standard licenses, it is always possible to install and use an older version, such as Windows Server 2022 Standard (downgrade rights).

When you purchase Windows Server 2025 Standard licenses with Software Assurance or Windows Server 2025 Standard Server Subscriptions, you always have access to the latest version of Windows Server and can also use these licenses for Azure Hybrid Benefit.

SWITCHING CLOUD PROVIDER

Switching to us as your new Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) is a seamless process. The transfer of subscriptions may vary depending on the agreement you have with your current provider. That's why we ensure that the transition to us is smooth, without any downtime! All you need to do is terminate your current agreement.

Subscription Transfer 
Our approach to subscription transfer is simple and seamless. On the day before your current agreement expires, we will activate the desired subscriptions in our Marketplace. This way, you won't experience any issues during the transition, and there will be no interruption in your cloud services. All you have to do is cancel your current contract to prevent automatic renewal.

No Downtime 
When you switch from your current CSP provider to us, you don't have to worry about downtime. NCE
New Commerce Experience (NCE) is the new contract model introduced by Microsoft. With these old Legacy subscriptions, you can switch at any time, unless otherwise agreed with your current provider.
